Hello,
My name is Mathieu Leclercq

I'm a French Game & Level Designer with programming skillset and a passion for designing, prototyping and polishing game interactions and mechanics.

I hold a Master's degree in Game Design from the french video game school, Supinfogame Rubika. After releasing my first game, Anarcute, I worked at Sloclap, and contributed to the release of Absolver.

Since then, I have become an independent freelancer and have worked on multiple games including the recently released Blanc from Casus Ludi, as well as other unannounced projects.

I am always looking for new adventures, so feel free to contact me.

Website Trailer

MIO: Memories in Orbit is a 2D adventure RPG set in the Vessel, a gigantic spaceship drifting in space for mysterious reasons. Play the android MIO and explore this decaying and mesmerizing world, overgrown with machines gone rogue. Uncover its secrets, enhance MIO's abilities, and save the spaceship and its residents from oblivion!

I worked as freelance Game & Level Designer on the game.

Absolver

Absolver is a martial arts-focused action role-playing video game developed by Sloclap, a Parisian indie game developer founded by former Ubisoft Paris employees.

Players control warrior characters who fight other players and computer-controlled characters across the fictional land of Adal to prove their worthiness of joining the Absolver peacekeepers. The character's fighting moves are customized in a "combat deck" of cards, with each card assigned to a move.

I worked as Game & Level Designer on the game.

Blanc

A poetic tale of a wolf cub and a fawn in the spectacular world of Blanc. Lost in a sudden snowstorm, they will have to lean on each other in order to follow the footprints their families left behind in the snow.

The game is made by Casus Ludi and is coming in 2023.

I worked as freelance Level Designer on the game.

Anarcute is a project we started as five students for the Microsoft Imagine Cup contest. The game won the french final and we were approched by Microsoft to join the ID@Xbox program and release the game on Xbox One.

We had the chance to showcase the game to a lot of events (GDC, Paris Game Week, Gamescom, ...) and won several awards like the Unity Best Student Project or the Ping for Best Student Game.
